Barbecue Chicken

There are few things better than a perfectly cooked piece of barbecue chicken, with that crispy skin, slightly charred, and meat that is slightly smoky and moist clear through to the bone.  Slathering your chicken in SweetFire Barbecue Sauce and allowing the sauce to caramelize slightly until it is sweet and lick-your-fingers-clean sticky, takes barbecue chicken to a whole new level.  Here is our tried and true family recipe for the best barbecue chicken you've ever tasted!

SweetFire Barbecue Chicken

  • 3 lbs chicken pieces
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 jar SweetFire Barbecue Sauce

Prepare your grill for cooking with direct heat.  Season chicken to taste with salt and pepper.  Place directly over the heat on the grill and allow to cook, covered, for 45 minutes turning once to prevent excessive burning.  After 45 minutes, brush with SweetFire barbecue sauce and allow to cook for 10 minutes more,  turn the chicken once more and brush the other side with SweetFire,  allow to cook for an additional 5 minutes.  Remove from grill and allow to rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.

This chicken is delicious with any sides you choose, however, this time of year our families favorite is grilled corn on the cob and a big salad full of seasonal vegetables.
